The Host (2006) - This South Korean monster movie about the dysfunctional family who are trying to rescue their daughter from a big mutated creature living in the Han River is a thrilling and emotionally charged watch. Direction by Bong Joon-ho , a master of his craft, and the actors in The cast, particularly Song Kang-ho's performance, is (blog post) exceptional. The film is both hilarious as well as heartbreaking.
